SUP Heaven: Paddleboarding & SUP Yoga!

Exploration, Fun, and Fitness on the Water!

Our SUP classes, lessons, and tours take place at idyllic locations throughout the Hamptons. We don’t post the exact location of a class because Mother Nature dictates that for us sometimes and we also love to take our students to different spots to explore new areas and secret locations! Please pick your class by town, and know that Sag Harbor will most likely mean Long Beach/Noyac area, East Hampton will be in the Springs (north) section of East Hampton, several miles from the village or in the Northwest Woods section, and Montauk will be either Lake Montauk or Eddie Ecker State Park. Please don’t hesitate to shoot me an email or text for more location information or to book your private sup or sup yoga lesson or tour!

What is Stand Up Paddleboarding?

Stand Up Paddleboarding, or SUP, originated in Hawaii as an offshoot of surfing. Unlike traditional surfing where the rider rests on the board until a wave comes, stand up paddleboarders maintain an upright stance on their boards and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. SUP can be enjoyed in the ocean and on lakes, rivers, and canals. A rapidly growing sport, SUP is a popular way to practice yoga and physical fitness.

Please contact me at any time for private, single or group lessons and tours, which are often available early in Spring and throughout fall. During high season, regular group classes are offered on the schedule of my sister studio JBYoga Studio in East Hampton.

SUP Yoga: Float Your Asana!

As soon as I started paddleboarding eight years ago, I immediately started practicing yoga postures on the board, as it seemed like such a natural thing to do—as a yoga teacher at least 🙂 SUP Yoga classes with JBYoga are an amazing way to experience the ancient practice of Yoga from a fresh perspective. Please know that you do NOT have to be an advanced Yogi or Yogini to check out this super fun and blissful floating Yoga experience. As highly experienced SUP Yoga guides, JBYoga teachers will move you through intelligently designed yoga sequences that strengthen and lengthen the major muscle groups, free the breath, and quiet the mind. While on the water, we will align with ourselves and the natural beauty that surrounds us. Classes may include chanting, meditation, and savasana with our hands resting in the water (ah, sweet surrender!).

Please contact me at any time for private, single or group SUP Yoga classes, which are often possible from early in Spring and late into fall. During high season, regular SUP Yoga classes are offered on the schedule of my sister studio JBYoga Studio in East Hampton.
