This retreat is an invitation into that remembrance. Together, beneath the jungle canopy and beside the Pacific Ocean, you'll experience practices that extend far beyond movement. Through yoga, meditation, breathwork, nature, meaningful conversation, and intentional community, Jess, Adrienne, and Craig will gently guide you back to the quiet wisdom that has always been within you.
Whether you arrive seeking rest, clarity, healing, inspiration, or simply a deeper connection to yourself, this week is designed to nourish every layer of your being.
Marea means tide — the ocean's oldest rhythm of release and return. There is something deeply feminine in that motion: the willingness to ebb, to soften, to trust that what recedes will come back changed. This week moves at that pace. It's an invitation to reconnect with your intuition, your body, your heart — the quiet, knowing parts of yourself that get drowned out in the noise of daily life.
Come exactly as you are. Leave feeling more grounded, more open, more alive.

For more than three decades, Jess Bellofatto has devoted her life to the practice, study, and teaching of yoga — not simply as a profession, but as a way of being. From stumbling into a class at the original Jivamukti Yoga center in NYC's East Village as a dance major, laying in savasana at the end sobbing and not understanding why but understanding that her life would never be the same, yoga quickly became the path that shaped every chapter of her life.
Yoga held Jess after losing a parent at just twenty-six years old. It became her anchor through three pregnancies, the sacred initiation into motherhood, and the profound identity shifts of postpartum. It steadied her through the unraveling of a marriage, the joys and challenges of raising three children, building businesses, experiencing burnout, reinventing herself, and continually returning home to what matters most.
For Jess, yoga has never been about touching her toes or mastering advanced postures. It has been about learning how to stay present when life asks everything of you. How to breathe when your heart is breaking. How to soften without becoming weak. How to surrender without giving up. How to meet each season of life with courage, curiosity, and compassion.
Her teaching is deeply rooted in the traditional wisdom of yoga while remaining profoundly relevant to modern life. Every class is infused with the philosophy that yoga does not happen on the mat alone — it is found in how we love, how we parent, how we grieve, how we lead, how we serve, and how we continue to rise after life humbles us.
Students are often struck not only by Jess's technical knowledge, intuitive sequencing, and decades of experience, but by the feeling they leave with. Her classes create space for both strength and softness, discipline and play, stillness and transformation. She has a unique gift for helping people reconnect with the wisdom that already lives within them.
Over the past 30+ years, Jess has led thousands of classes, owned a yoga studio for nearly two decades, guided teacher trainings, facilitated international retreats, taught paddleboard yoga around the world, and mentored countless students both on and off the mat. Yet despite all of the places yoga has taken her, she believes its greatest gift has been inward: it has taught her that healing is not becoming someone new — it is remembering who you have always been.
Adrienne Ruger Conzelman began her yoga journey 36 years ago when she stepped into her first yoga class at Hamilton College. A natural athlete and member of the Lacrosse team, Adrienne was seeking something beyond a physical workout. Around that same time, on an extended stay in Bali, she was exposed to meditation and deeply moved by canang sari, the daily act of gratitude and devotion made by Balinese Hindus to honor gods and ancestors and to keep harmony. These three finite moments ignited a lifelong journey inwards.
During these formative years, her parents divorced and then her father passed away after a brutal bout of Leukemia. Yoga provided a sanctuary and a tool for coping and carrying on. After college, Adrienne pursued classes at Yoga Zone, Jivamukti, and various studios offering an array of styles and lineages from Iyengar to Anusara to Bikram, where 90-minute classes guided students how to move on and off their mats. Yoga became her church and place of peace as she raised three children.
Throughout decades of traveling around the globe, Adrienne has sought out studios and teachers from the northern reaches of Maine to the far southern tip of Uruguay to the sacred city of Luang Prabang, gleaning lessons along the way. In her barn in Connecticut, which also served as an art gallery for 16 years, Adrienne shared her passion for yoga, offering art history and yoga summer camps for kids and evening classes for ladies, and during the pandemic sharing the gallery with a local studio which had lost its space.
At the age of 50, her world was shattered once again with the death of her husband. A deeper journey inward began — reading voraciously about death, the afterlife, and the journey of the soul. At this time, she decided to pursue yoga more formally and completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training with Ila Yoga in Nosara, Costa Rica. Along with multiple weekend workshops at Kripalu, Adrienne completed a 75-hour Deep Play for Kids Yoga training in the fall of 2025. She was also trained in Transcendental Meditation in 2021 and has begun studies in Buddhism with David Nichtern of Dharma Moon Yoga.
After moving out of Connecticut and settling into Sagaponack, New York, Adrienne created a community-centric space for yoga, breathwork, and meditation in her art gallery in Amagansett. SEVAxARC offers daily classes by seasoned local and visiting teachers. Adrienne is also a new board member of Azahar Foundation, whose mission is to spread peace through yoga and the arts in Cambodia, Rwanda, and Ukraine.
Adrienne hopes to instill a sense of greater inner peace and calm alongside increased mobility, flexibility, and strength through moving meditations linked with breathwork, focused attention and an abundance of love.
For 25 years, Craig built a career in the fashion industry. On the outside, life looked successful and on track. But beneath the surface, he was navigating ongoing physical challenges that left him feeling out of balance internally.
Eventually, Craig found himself looking beyond conventional medicine. That ultimately led him into energy work, where everything began to align. Through working with gifted teachers and practitioners, Craig experienced a profound transformation that awakened his intuitive gifts and brought him back to his true path.
Craig's practice is rooted in creating and holding an intentional energetic space where each person's soul wisdom leads. He supports the energetic field where inner knowing rises, revealing what is ready to be understood, remembered, and released.
Craig shares his time between New York City and Sag Harbor, New York, where he enjoys surfing, yoga, fly fishing, and being in nature.
Julian's path shifted in 2008, when yoga became the catalyst for a spiritual awakening that pulled him away from a career in pharmacy and toward a life of service. What followed was years of study — massage therapy, energy work, a 10-day Vipassana retreat, and initiation into an ancestral healing lineage — alongside an unexpected calling into fire dance, which became both craft and philosophy of flow.
Julian has lived and taught in Nosara since 2016, holding space for yoga, shamanic wisdom, and bodywork at his sanctuary, Lion Heart Alchemy. He'll join us for one guest-led class and lead our fire ceremony under the Nosara sky.
Tucked into the jungle just minutes from Nosara's beaches, this home was chosen for one reason: it gets out of the way. Open-air living spaces, a yoga deck framed by trees, a pool for the in-between hours — nothing between you and the experience. You won't share this home with strangers. Only your fellow guests, and the three of us.
Nosara has more to offer than any one week can hold. On your open time, guests are welcome to arrange (at their own cost) any of the following through local outfitters:
The jungle is loud. The ocean doesn't care about your inbox. Raw nature, pure pura vida energy, and transformation at every turn — from tide pools at low tide to sunrise yoga on the sand.

Marea is designed with women's healing and connection in mind — but couples are warmly welcome, and every guest is held the same way. And every piece of programming here is an invitation, never an obligation. Join the sunrise practice, skip it and sleep in, sit by the pool instead of the fire circle — this week bends around you, not the other way around.
No. All levels are welcome — the retreat is designed to meet you where you are.

Not at all. Every session — yoga, breathwork, the fire ceremony — is an invitation, not a requirement. Skip a session, sleep in, or just be by the pool. This week moves at your pace.
