Yoga and Meditation in the Italian Countryside

Our venue for this retreat will be the stunning Locanda del Gallo, a country house bed and breakfast located in the peaceful Umbria hills between Gubbio and Perugia. Prominently situated on a ridge which stretches into the centre of the valley commands fine views over its 28 hectares of gardens, terraced lawns and woodland, this luxury, boutique hotel accommodation is immersed in nature. Enjoy green hills, gardens, silence, and extreme relaxation in the wellness centre with salt water swimming pool, jacuzzi spa and massage facilities. The Locanda del Gallo has 10 rooms, each equally fresh and silent, and each unique from one another. The furnishings adorning every room were all hand-picked and brought back one by one from many distant journeys made by Paola and Irish, the owners. There is no television, and nothing to disturb the peace and tranquillity.

The chef will spoil you with healthy and organic cuisine. Organic tomatoes, salad leaves, aromatic herbs, and vegetables come from the kitchen garden. Olive oil from the olive grove, yogurt, cakes and home-made breads. In the finest traditions of Mediterranean cuisine, everything is natural, and everything is genuine.

Stroll at leisure through the olive grove, inhale the scent of roses and herbs, or simply curl up with a book under the shade of the old elm tree. The gardens hold many hidden gems and secret corners for you to discover. In one, an ecological chlorine-free swimming pool, encircled by comfortable sun loungers and close by the sybaritic delight of an outdoor Jacuzzi whirlpool spa. Or descend a few steps to enter the small Moorish style spa, let your tensions slip away in the Turkish bath and then immerse yourself in a cloud of cool, refreshing, mint scented water, before heading for the peace of the salon overlooking the verdant landscape to sip a tisane, read a book, or revive yourself under the hands of our masseuse.

For those who wish to venture on a day excursion, Gubbio, Perugia, Assisi and Cortona are all within easy reach of the Locanda del Gallo and even Siena, Florence and Rome are not too far.

• Regional Italian cooking and pasta making class (and then we eat lunch from what we have prepared!!)

• Regional Wine Tasting and Lunch at a gorgeous castle- Castello di Ramazzano, Cantina Aliani
  

• Airfare to Rome

• Airport transfer from Rome to Locanda del Gallo and the return (the more people arriving together, the cheaper the transport, so please check in with Jessica before booking your flight)

• Wine or other alcohol

• Specialty drinks, cappuccino, bottled water

• Easy day trip to Cortona

• Further day trips to Siena, Florence, and Rome

• Hand weaving workshop—learn the art of hand looming and dyeing fabric with vegetable dyes, located down the road from the locanda

• Massage

• 8:30am guided pranayama and meditation

• 9-10:30am yoga

• 10:30am breakfast

• 11:30am hike

• 1:00pm lunch

• 2:30-5:30pm free time, day trips, massage and spa time, etc

• 5:30-7pm yoga

• 7:30pm dinner

Fly to Rome and from Rome we arrange group transport to the Locanda (cost determined by how many travel together). To try to keep costs down for the transport once in Italy, please check with me before  booking your flights so I can suggest the best arrival time. The travel time via van from the airport is about 2.5 hours. The most convenient airports are: Perugia S. Egidio (15km), Rome Fiumicino and Ciampino airports (200km), Florence Peretola (170km), Ancona Falconara (130km), and Bologna Forlì (150km). If you decide to fly into any airport other than Rome, we can still arrange your transport for you if you wish.

Per person rates for this retreat are outlined below. Please book early to secure your preferred type of occupancy. A non-refundable $500 deposit per person is required to secure your space on this retreat. From  January 15 onwards, the full amount is required upon registration and any remaining balances become payable. CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations made within 90 days or less of arrival are 100% non-refundable. All initial deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

The acceptance of a verbal or written confirmation from JBYOGA constitutes your acceptance of the terms and conditions listed herein. Participants are responsible to be adequately insured, therefore Traveler’s Insurance is strongly recommended*. JBYOGAand its staff assume no responsibility nor liability for any delay, loss, damage, injury or accident with regards to persons or property which may be caused by fault or negligence of any third party vendor. This includes hotels, transportation providers, and local operators participating in part for our services. JBYOGA shall be held harmless for any expense caused by injury or accident, to any participants as well as any loss or damage of personal items while on our tours. We reserve the right to make any changes to services and itineraries, with or without notice, which may become necessary.

JBYOGA, its affiliates, retreat facilitators, hotels, third party vendors, and tour providers, the ownership, or staff, of course, cannot be held responsible for events that are outside of our control. There are no refunds as per our cancellation policies. We highly recommend that all of our guests secure a quality travel insurance that will cover them for ANY event which may cause for a change of travel plans, or for ANY unfortunate event including but of course not limited to:

– Transportation delays, cancellations or changes due to strikes, labor disputes, or lockouts from airlines, boats, ferries or any type of transportation
– Any inconvenience or complication caused by bad weather, storms, and hurricanes : a direct hit, near miss, or significant threat of a hurricane strike
– Government/political actions, events or situations; threats or acts of terrorism, acts of war or declared war.
– Personal health issues or personal situations in general which may affect travel plans
– Any loss, theft or damage of personal items at any stage of your trip
– Any accident causing injury during any stage of your trip
– Concern or fear of travel associated with sickness, epidemic or pandemic, including Coronavirus
